Here we go!

So after reading many of my friends blogs, I’ve finally been convinced to start my own (thanks Mary). Being a stay-at-home mom, I sometimes feel my 20 years of schooling are not being put to use. Since I was a Journalism major in college, I should be able to write - or so you’d think. But then again, it’s been almost ten years since I graduated from college and I haven’t done anything journalistic in any of the jobs that I have held. So I will write what I feel and hopefully it will make sense. Not sure what I plan to put on this blog. There is a story behind the web site address - picturethisdinner. My husband, Jeff, so enjoys my cooking and thought I should take pictures of the meals and share them with the rest of the world. It sounded like a neat idea so I thought up a website and purchased the name. This was about two years ago and as you can see, I haven’t added a single entry yet. So my blog may include pictures of dinner and maybe a recipe here or there, or it might just include funny things my kids say (thanks for that one too Mary). Although only one of them can talk right now, she sure does say some funny things! Like the other day when she was playing in the pool and blurted out "THIS IS THE LIFE MOMMY". I also might express how I’m feeling about anything and everything. For example, Allison, my 3 year old, starts preschool for the first time in a couple weeks. I’m excited for her, yet nervous and sad at the same time. My little girl is growing up fast. This will be her first “class” that I will not attend with her and participate. She seems fine with the idea; I on the other hand will wonder how she will survive without her mom. Who will cut up her nuggets? Who will help her go potty? Who will help her up when she falls down? I guess that’s what the role of a teacher is. Boy do I hope she has a good teacher. So I’ll see how things go, I may write often, or less often, depending on if any thoughts are in my head. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy…Also couldn't have a first post with a picture of my favorite two little munchkins….

Wow, I'm even the first to leave a comment. Now don't I feel special? Well, more so than I did three minutes ago...

So let me begin by saying that Amy is the bestest, most fabulous sister-in-law a boy could have. Even if she is the only sister-in-law this boy has.

Can't wait to see you and my adorable niece and nephew next week. Oh yea, and Jeff too.

Congrats on entering the world of blog. Don't let it detract from the world of e-bay.

Yma! Great idea -- I love blogs and love having a new one to read. I've always wanted to do one, but I'm fairly sure my line of work rules that out for me. It's nice to hear what you're up to, please tell Ffej I said hello.

Hello Amy!! This is great! I look forward to reading this...so keep it up to date!

You should start a list for all of the unused college degrees!!

I remember the girls first day of preschool, kindergarten, first full day of school, first field trip WITHOUT ME, ect... Can you believe we are starting the college search for my baby now (your flower girl!)...and it seems like yesterday she was starting preschool! Just enjoy every minute, like I know you do!

Amy,
Welcome! I'm new to "mommy" blogging myself. I'm enjoying the community and the outlet for my random thoughts. Beware, though, blgging can be a real time-drainer! We're all trying to find the right balance! God bless.

Hi Amy! Mary guided me over here and I wanted to say hello!I just love the title of your website and the reason behind it! Isn't it great when our husband's think we're the best cooks around? Your children are precious!! I have 2 daughters (13 and 9) and just had a baby boy 6 weeks ago. :o) I look forward to stopping by more often! Have fun with your blog! You're off to a wonderful start!

Welcome to the land of "BLOG". I see that Mary has struck again!!! I think we may have to do an intervention! (i am her neighbor) I, too, started blogging under the influence of Mary :-) It has been one month almost and I think it's great. I know you will enjoy it.

I will be looking forward to your recipies and I know how hard it is taking kids to the 1st "anything". My only advice is to bring some tissue and be strong.

Nice to meet you and I will stop by again!
