This morning we went to Allison's school for a meet and greet with her teachers. We walked into the classroom, the teachers, Ms Randi and Ms Sara introduced themselves and Allison turned toward her daddy and buried her face in his legs...then she saw all the cool stuff in the classroom -puzzles, play-doh, a kitchen set, legos, plastic food, and about a million other things that she loves to play with. She quickly sat down at the table with play-doh on it and said "Look mommy, it's just like art class!". So that definitely put all of us at ease. At one point, the teacher asked Allison what she had made with the play-doh, to which she responded" A monster." But not just any monster, she continued by saying, "The monster eats children." Great first impression Allison. Anyway, it didn't take her long to feel comfortable in the classroom - playing with all the toys, saying hi to new friends and even hugging a few. Her teachers are absolutely wonderful. At one point, Ms Randi looked at me (after seeing Allison making herself at home) and said "She will have no problem adjusting." Let's hope so. Thursday will be the real test, when mommy has to leave her and go on my way. Allison will be just fine. I, on the other hand, might need a shoulder to cry on.
