The Second Day of School

After last weeks debacle, I was sure to send Allison to school with a backpack and lunchbox this time:

Suffice to say, when I picked her up, she was a much happier camper. I got out of the car, and with backpack and lunchbox in hand, she came running towards me and yelled "Mommy!" What a wonderful feeling. Of course, Daniel was in the car screaming his head off. If only they could both be happy at the same time, life would be good.

I did notice something interesting today as I dropped Allison off at school this morning - about 70% of the people dropping off the kids were the daddy's. All dressed in their suits and ties ready to head to work. For some reason, it made me very happy to see all these daddies taking their little ones to school. Maybe it's because I'm a say-at-home mom and I'm just so used to seeing mommies take care of their kids. It's nice to see the daddies being able to share in the happiness of dropping their kids off.
