We're almost to the end of the trip people! If you're still with me, thanks for following our journey. If not, then too bad! Just a warning - this is a picture intense post because words can't do it justice!
On Day 9, Jeff and I decided to leave the kids with my parents for a few hours while to went to visit his old office and have lunch at one of Jeff's favorite restaurants. After saying hello to several of Jeff's old office friends, we headed with his old boss Joe and friend Nick to Andy Nelson's Barbecue. Jeff used to dine there once a week for seven years when he worked in Hunt Valley. Apparently they have the best pulled pork sandwhich and he has yet to find anything that comes remotely close (believe me, we've tried). I don't eat pork so I feasted on their BBQ beef which was too good for words. After lunch we realized why it everything tasted more delicious and we were most relaxed then ever before - because we had left the kids with my parents!! Needless to say, it was quite an enjoyable lunch.
Afterwards, we headed back to my parents to pick everyone up and head out to my Aunt's house in Damascus. We drove through pouring rain and storms but made it there safely. Unfortunately their power was out, but this didn't really affect anything since they were grilling dinner for us. We also go to meet my cousin Mitchell's new son Tyler. And yes, Allison was all about the baby. I love going to my aunts house because it is simply exquisite. My aunt and uncle own about 40 acres and have turned it into quite a masterpiece. They've lived there about 23 years now and I have many many memories at their house. They recently remodeled their kitchen which was simply beautiful! Here are some pictures of her house, the grounds, and the remodeled kitchen:My aunt took Allison down to the vegetable garden to pick some vegetables and flowers:
After all the vegetable and flower picking, it was time to hold baby Tyler:In the meantime, Daniel had fun running around:
