Daniel - 13 Months

Here we are at 13 months of age. Wow. He just started taking steps. He's walked three or four steps at a time. When he's a little more stable on his feet I'll try and take some video. Besides walking, Daniel sure is a climber! He will climb anything and everything he can get his foot propped up on. I've had to do a bit of rearranging in our house because of this. He would climb on certain things to get to other things that he shouldn't be touching. And he is sooo proud of himself when he is successful. It's very cute but also very tiring for me.

His mouth is now full of teeth! For a 13 month old, he sure has a lot of teeth. I think he has 16 of his 20 baby teeth but it's hard to tell what's going in the back of his mouth. When we went for his one year check-up the doctor said his molars are coming in and he's got at least 12 in the front. He must have pushed those teeth in so he could eat more!

He still loves to eat any kind of fruit - especially bananas and grapes. He also loves strawberries, apples and watermelon. He's a little more picky when it comes to meat. He loves chicken nuggets but won't eat any type of chicken that isn't breaded. He loves turkey sausage and hot dogs, but I try not to give him too much of that stuff. He isn't too crazy about ground beef just yet. I'll have to work on that one. He's somewhat willing to try new things and has no problem spitting it out if he doesn't like it.

Daniel also seems to be making more sounds recently. No real words, just lots of baby talk. He loves to clap - but refuses to perform for company. We had friends over and I kept asking him to clap but he just wouldn't do it. Then I took him upstairs to change his diaper and the minute I put him on the changing table he started clapping and with a BIG grin on his face. This boy is going to be trouble!
