About 7 years ago, we had the misfortune pleasure of receiving this red chair from my in-laws.
Jeff grew up with this chair and it reminds him of his childhood. So needless to say, he is somewhat attached to this chair. When he brought it into the house (without consulting me of course), I thought, okay, we have a basement, this will go well in there. It's not the most attractive chair but it does have sentimental value so who am I to say he can't bring it in the house. Well, when it was time to move to our new house (which does not have a basement) I tried VERY hard to convince him to get rid of it. I was unsuccessful and the chair followed us 1000 miles to our new home. I was tempted to pay the moving men to somehow "misplace" it but I didn't have the heart (or the cash). We have a nice loft area which we use as an office. It's upstairs so it was somewhat hidden from guests. I wasn't crazy about putting it there but there was really no other place to put it. It was also slightly damaged in the move so it's not very comfortable to sit in. When you sit down, you are practically laying down. Not very comfortable when you are trying to hold or feed a baby at the same time. So this weekend, I finally convinced Jeff that since they are almost finished the golf course in our backyard, we should get a nice loveseat to for that area which we can use for relaxing and reading and looking at the nice view out the window. I thought, oh yeah, the red chair is gone! Well, the loveseat arrived yesterday and the chair was moved...downstairs that is...in our family room. I told Jeff that Thursday is bulk trash pickup day and it's going out on the curb. I have a bad feeling that's not going to happen. What have I done? Now the red chair is prominently displayed in our family room for all to see. Ugh. Can anyone relate to my misery? Please comment below.

Hey, that red chair is a classic! And the fact that it traveled thousands of miles from N.O. to Maryland and back down to Florida makes it all the more special. Just bring it to a furniture store and have them fix the insides. Maybe Pa-Poo would even sponsor that endeavor. You could also put it in the guest room - move the dresser and tv to in front of the window and put the chair in the corner. I just better not see it on E-Bay!!!
