What Will They Remember?

I often wonder what my children will remember about their childhood. It makes me sad to think about how hard it is to recall the early years of one’s life. Thinking back to when I was their age, I can't remember much. Obviously I don't remember anything from when I was Daniel's age and there is not much I can recall from when I was Allison's age. I'm not sure if what I do recall from that age is due to stories I've been told and pictures I have seen or if I still have those actually memories stored somewhere in my brain.

I guess the good thing is that in today's age, we record so much more of everything, whether it be through video, still pictures or a blog like this one. Yes, my parents took plenty of pictures and there is even some grainy (and silent) video of us at Kings Dominion or Disney World but it pales in comparison to what these kids will have to treasure when they are older. I just hope the many pictures, videos and stories help them to recall the actual moments in time. I truly treasure every minute I am able to spend with my children and I hope they can (at least one day) treasure it too.
