A Little Treat from New Orleans

As if having one party this past weekend wasn't enough, we needed to have two. It was a special weekend because not only was it Daniel's birthday but Jeff's dad and his wife Jane were visiting from Delaware. All the more reason to have a crawfish boil. Crawfish boils in New Orleans are a weekly occurrence during crawfish season, so Jeff had gone through some major withdraw since he moved away almost 15 years ago. He was able to find a company that would ship them to us. The best part is, they are still alive when you receive them (you can't cook and eat dead crawfish). So he invited a few friends from work and we all managed to finish off 20lbs of crawfish. This was the first time Jeff had ever attempted to boil them and it went rather well (other than the one phone call to his brother to ask about the garlic). Even though his co-workers had never eaten crawfish before, they seemed to really enjoy it. I figured there would be leftovers to make some crawfish etoufee but no such luck!

That boy must be some out of shape if all he could polish off were 20 pounds!
