A Visit from Aunt BonBon and Uncle MyMy

My sister Bonnie and her husband Michael came into town this week for Michael's brother's wedding. They came all the way from California, taking a red-eye Sunday night. We were lucky enough to have them spend Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with us. Before they arrived, Allison and I made them a special cake (from scratch!). As Allison calls it, "The smiley face cake". It was quite fun to make but it looked better than it tasted. Here's a picture:

Once they arrived, Bonnie and Allison had fun swimming in the pool - even though the water temperature was a cool 78 degrees (she's braver than me!).

Like always, Aunt Bonnie came bearing gifts. She gave Allison a Dora coloring book with the magic markers and finger paint (the one that only works on the Cray*la special paper). They had a blast painting and coloring in the pictures. Daniel also received an adorable outfit.
On Tuesday night, my parents hosted a wonderful Halloween/Thanksgiving dinner for us. Since we won't be together for Thanksgiving, she thought it would be a good idea to celebrate it while Bonnie was in town. She even made a 20lb turkey! My Aunt Ruth, Uncle Bob, Aunt Esther, Uncle Allen and Michael's mom Rhoda were all at the party too. Here are a few pictures from the dinner:

And finally, as I mentioned in my last blog, Uncle Michael was kind enough to carve our pumpkin. He did a fabulous job making the Cinderella pumpkin. We were all VERY impressed.
