I took Daniel to a birthday party today so my mom came and picked up Allison for some grandma/granddaughter time. When she came home, Allison handed me a picture she drew about their time together. In order to read it in the correct order of events you have to start at the bottom and read up. Not sure where she learned to write like that - or where she learned to spell - I know, she's only 5, but hopefully school will start to teach her spelling because this whole "phonics" just isn't cutting it anymore (although I love how she spells "movies").
In case you can't understand her writing, it says:
"I went to the park. After that I went to get ice cream. After that I went to go see the movies."
This is the first time she had been to the movies in over 2 years. Last time she went she was 3 - we went to see Ratatouille. That didn't go so well because with about 20 minutes left in the movie she got up and decided to leave - without me. Daniel was just a baby at the time so I had to gather him and all my belongings and chase after her. She wasn't upset or anything, she was just bored and decided it was time to leave. Needless to say, I hadn't taken her back since. Sounds like she did much better today. They went to see "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs". Good to know I can take her back to the movies again.
