Nine years ago today I got married. So did Jeff. Luckily, it was to each other. Here we are, nine years, two houses, two cars, many jobs (for me at least) one dog and two kids later.
On this anniversary, I'd like to reminisce for a moment. I was looking through some old pictures and letters and came across something that made me smile. Jeff and I met at the University of Maryland and started dating in January of 1995 during our freshman year of college. That summer, he went home to New Orleans to work and make some money and everyone was amazed that we stayed together. On our 6 month anniversary (of dating), Jeff sent me a 1/2 dozen roses with a note that read:
"6 roses, 6 months and a whole lot of love!"
At some point after that, he mailed me some little pieces of paper to show me how much thought he put into that note. I managed to keep the pieces of paper and ran across them recently.
Here were the other notes he came up with, but chose not to use:
"You have six roses in your hand, six months of memories in your mind and six months of love in your heart P.S. I stole the roses."
"Happy six months. I got you some damn roses."
"Happy six months, enjoy the flowers. P.S. They are C.O.D"
"You know, my other girlfriend got really jealous when she heard I was sending these to you"
Yes, he has a sense of humor, but I guess 6 months was too early to test out that humor on me!
Happy anniversary to my dear husband!
Can't wait to celebrate the big "10" next year!

LOVED the other notes! Happy anniversary. We celebrate our ninth in June.
Ask him if I had any input into those notes.
