This week will be Allison's last week of preschool. She graduates on May 26th. Yes, that's right they have a graduation ceremony for preschool . Nothing big, just a little ceremony in her classroom where they will sing songs for us and perhaps receive some sort of diploma. Wait until you see the picture I ordered of her in a cap and gown - too funny. I'll post it once I get it. We're only a couple months away from the start of kindergarten. Allison seems excited but I'm sure it will tough for both of us. But I think the person it will be hardest for is Daniel. He just loves having his big sister around. He's her little shadow. He copies EVERYTHING she does, from her mannerisms, words, actions, and everything in between. Jeff and I were on a walk with the two of them and the dog last night and we were watching how much he copied her. She was marching, he was marching, she was talking, he repeated her words, she jumped, he...well, let's just say he tried to jump. Poor boy still can't get his feet off the ground. I think it has to do with the fact that he is afraid of most things. Some of you might think, it's good to be cautious, and yes, this is true but he is beyond cautious about most things - he's just plain scared! Hopefully he will get over this one day.
As for this summer, we don't have too much planned. Allison will be doing two weeks of swimming lessons to hopefully improve upon her swimming skills. It's been almost a year since her previous swimming class ended. She'll also be taking a ceramics class once a week for eight weeks (just painting, not creating). I'll try and post some pictures of her masterpieces (or lack there of). We're also going to be travelling to the Maryland/DC area at the end of July. We haven't been back in almost 2 years and we're looking forward to seeing all of our friends and family. Other than that, we just plan on hanging out with friends and enjoying the time off.
As for Jeff, on Monday, he is returning to his office after fourteen weeks of being contracted to the state which required a 50 mile commute (each way). He's looking forward to the short commute again, as is his Mazda. He continues to work on his MBA and will be half way done in July. We all are looking forward to the completion. These school weekends are quite tough on both of us (not to mention all the studying in between!)
So that's what's going on in our lives right now. Looking forward to the changes ahead!
