The Sensitivity Factor

Every year, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas comes on tv and Allison is very excited to watch it...until the part where Mickey gets mad at Pluto and Pluto runs away. You see, Allison, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the situation) seems to have inherited my extra sensitivity. She's watched this movie every year since she was two and every year I think "Nah, she won't cry this time." but to no avail, once Pluto runs away, the tears start flowing fast and furious. I tell her that it has a happy ending. I don't want to turn it off because I want her to see the happy ending. Santa brings Pluto back to Mickey and they live happily ever after. Even after it's over, after the happy ending, she is still upset by the whole thing. This is the same girl that cries when Cinderella's dress is torn or when Nemo is separated from his dad (okay, that's a tearjerker for almost anyone) . She really empathizes with the characters. I can relate. I do the same thing. We'll have to wait and see if Daniel is the same way. I'm already starting to think he is. Oh boy...
