Tiny Talk Tuesday

Welcome to Tiny Talk Tuesday! Here's what Allison, age 4, had to say this past week:

Allison: I don't want Daniel anymore.
Me: What! That's not very nice.
Allison: I want you to put him back in your tummy. He's not letting me do my stuff.
About 20 min later
Allison: I"m happy to have a baby brother mommy because Daniel is so cute!
Me: Good thing I didn't put Daniel back in my belly.

Allison: What are you eating mommy?
Me: Almonds. Do you want one?
Allison: No, because one time I was afraid to eat one.
Me: Why were you afraid.
Allison: I thought it was going to turn me into something.
Me: What would it turn you into?
Allison: A fairy
Me: Well that's okay, fairies are good.
Allison: No, a magic witch fairy.

Because Allison will talk to almost any adult she sees, I've really been stressing to her not to talk to strangers or to open the front door if the doorbell rings. So we were in a parking lot getting in the car and the woman next to us was also getting in the car with her son. Her and I carried on a conversation about how long it takes to get our kids buckled in. Once I got into the car, Allison said "Why are you talking to the stranger? Do you know her name?" To which I replied "No, but she was nice and she had a kid with her." Our very next stop was the post office where an older women had asked me a question and I answered her, the next thing I know, I hear Allison mumbling "How can you talk to her when she doesn't have a kid and she's a stranger?" She was just so confused, poor girl. I guess I should have explained that it's okay for mommy to talk to strangers if I think they are a nice person.

That's all for this week. Check out Notbefore7 for more Tiny Talk!

Oh, we have to deal with the stranger thing too. We have often said it's ok to talk to people she doesn't know if Mommy and Daddy are with her. It's hard making that distinction.

Oh the stranger danger...it is tough. Cause we encourage them all of the time to say hi to people, ya know?

We do the same as Meg...differenciate between when we are there and when we aren't.

Laughed at her evaluation of you...
