Where'd the Summer Go?

Sorry I haven't posted much recently. I've been busy with swim class, gymnastics, doctor appointments, storytime at the library, playgroups, MomsClub board, Allison's JCC class, my part-time job and everything else that has been going on this summer. School starts in a little over a week. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone. We've decided to make a few changes this month. We're stopping the swimming and gymnastics and Allison will be starting dance/tap class. I figure we'll see how it goes. I can always put her back in gymnastics but with her being in school 5 days a week, I didn't want to wear her out too much. She is excited to return to school and we found out that many of her friends from last year will be in her class again this year. She's excited about learning to read. She wants to be able to read so badly. I've tried helping her out, but it's just plain difficult so I'll leave it up to the education system to lead the way and follow-up with practice at home. Jeff's school is keeping him busy, He realizes how hard it is to work all day and then have to come home, spend time with the family and then do schoolwork. Makes it a bit difficult to get up in the morning (not that it was an easy thing for him before school started). But we're all managing. We still have our housekeeper but I'm torn on that one. I still can't justify the cost. I think we're going to stop the service and I'll go back to doing the cleaning on my own. Jeff did volunteer to do the bathrooms but I just don't see that coming to fruition (sorry Jeff). I figure with Allison in school every day from 1-4 and with Daniel napping at least part of that time, I should be able to get some cleaning done. I just need to make a schedule and stick to it. So we'll see how that goes. That's the jist of our lives right now. Looking forward to going on vacation again in 2 years when Jeff's school is done. Hopefully by then the airfares and gas prices will be back to a reasonable rate and we can actually afford to go somewhere.
