Tiny Talk Tuesday

Allison, age 3 ½ had a lot to a say this past week. Here are a few things I was able to write down:

Allison: Mommy, do you like ladybugs?
Me: They’re okay. (actually, I don’t like them but the reason why is a long story that I didn’t want to get into).
Allison: Because they are nice bugs, not like the other bugs. The creepy, crawly, scary bugs. We don’t like those kind of bugs right?
Me: Sure

Allison: Manga...manga, manga manga!
Me: What’s manga?
Allison: Manga is a different word for saying monkey in Spanish.
Me: Oh okay. (Since I’ve never taken Spanish and Allison is learning it in school I had no idea if she was right or not. I’ve since looked it up and if I am spelling it correctly, it means “sleeve”, not “monkey”)

Daniel thinks it’s hysterical to give the dog his food (when he doesn’t want to eat it) while sitting in his highchair. He was doing this the other day so I said mockingly:
Me: Am I going to have to separate you two?
Allison: What does separate mean?
Me: Two move two things apart
Allison: So if we put Daniel in China and Riley at home, that is separate?
Me: Yes! ( and there’s that China again!)

I had made Allison some mac and cheese in the shape of Arthur (cartoon character). She didn’t finish it all so I put it in the fridge. The next night she wanted mac and cheese, just not the author shaped one. I told her I wasn’t making more mac and cheese until she finished the Arthur mac and cheese from the previous night. So she pitched a fit and came up with several reasons why I should make the other mac and cheese (yes, I was writing this down as she was pitching a fit because it was cracking me up!)

“If you don’t make it, I won’t eat dinner!”
“I don’t want it on Thursday’s and Wednesdays”
“I don’t like it when I‘m sick”
“I don’t want the Author mac and cheese!”

And for dinner that night…she had the Author mac and cheese (yeah, mommy won a round!!!)

Okay, that was all I could write down. She was quite the talker this past week. I really need to just start recording everything that comes out over her mouth because it cracks me up.

I was just going to say that Allison sounds like Dr. Seuss, that's so funny! I love the bit about Ladybugs. Audrey LOVES ladybugs, but isn't so excited about other bugs.
