The past four days in my house have been AWFUL. I was stricken with one of the worst viral infections (yes, just a simple cold) that I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. I was unable to sleep because everytime I started to fall asleep I would wake up chocking on whatever had taken over my throat. Two nights with no sleep and I could hardly eat anything becuase the pain of swallowing was so awful. I could barely talk becuase the pain was so bad. After plenty of chicken soup, vegtable soup, split pea soup, tylenol, orange sherbert, hot tea, and many many many Halls cough drops, I seem to be on the road to recovery.
I would like to thank my wonderful husband for taking care of the two little ones while I tried combat the worst sore throat I had ever had. It wasn't strep, or the flu which made it even more frustrating because it couldn't be treated- I just had to let it run its course. I would also like to thank my parents for helping out with the kids while Jeff took me to the Urget Care Center and for all the soup and support. Also I'd like to thank my aunts and uncles who live and close proximity and offered their support. Sounds like I just won an Oscar or something, but you don't realize how much you need to depend on others when you are down for the count. Luckily the kids didn't have the illness to the extent that I did. They seemed to just have a small cold with runny noses. I would much rather I be sick instead of them so thank goodness for that.
So with everything bad that happens, there is always something good that comes out of it. After 3 days of eating spaghetti- O's and tuna fish, Jeff decided he was ready for a real meal and he actually cooked himself a chicken and pasta dish. I will let him share the recipe and picture with you in another blog post but he was very proud of his creation, as was I.
So hopefully this is the end of the illnesses for a while because I can't take much more. At least the stomach virus I had a few weeks ago only lasted for about 6 hours. I'm still not sure which was worse, but I'd rather not think about either right now and focus on continuing to get healthy.
