I was reading Allison a book before bed last night and there was a picture of an elephant with a pacifier in its mouth and Allison points to it and asks "Mom, what's that?" So I say, "It's a pacifier?" To which she responds, "A what?" "A pacifier, a binky" I replied. Now granted, she has a double ear infection and can hardly hear anything but I was sure to speak loudly. Again, I repeated, "a pacifier, like babies suck on." She acted like she had never seen or heard of one before. Allison depended on a pacifier the first 27 months of her life, for her not to know what one was, was a total shock to me. Maybe it's all the medication she's on, or maybe she really had forgotten what one was especially since Daniel never took to one- he's just a finger sucker. It's kinda sad that we forget so much of our younger years. Some would say those are the best years of your life - you have no responsibilities, everything is done for you and you sleep whenever you want. Now that was the life!
