It's Showtime!

Allison's school holiday show was tonight. What is it about a bunch of three and four year olds singing that is simply adorable. Maybe it's the silly costumes they were wearing, or the way they try and dance and shake their booty or maybe it's just the fact that they all scream the words to the song because no one really knows how to sing at that age. Whatever the case, it was just too cute. The had the show at a local high school auditorium so it really felt like a big time production. There were 12 classes singing in the show and each class sang two songs. Before each class went on, they allowed the parents of that class to move up to the first three rows so they could have a close-up view which was a great idea! Allison's class came on about halfway through the show, which was perfect timing. I must say, it was quite an interesting holiday show given that they aren't supposed to sing any religious songs. So they basically sang kids songs. Allison's class sang The Wheels on the Bus Rap, which would explain this and a song called One Small Voice, which I have heard her sing bits and pieces of over the past month or so. According to their teachers, they've been practicing these songs for quite some time now, I'm sure they are all glad it's finally over! Allison did great, I think it helped to see her mommy, daddy, brother, grandma and papa sitting right in front of her. Hopefully we put her at ease despite the fact that there were a few hundred people in the auditorium. She definitely wasn't one of the loudest singers, but she did manage to shake her hips a few times. I was just happy she didn't start crying on the stage (which did happen with one girl in the show, poor thing). Now, I know you all want to see a video of the show, but we happen to have a non-digital video camera ( i know, we bought it before digital became the big thing), so although we did get it on tape, I cannot easily transfer it to the computer yet (i do plan to get a converter soon!). In the meantime, I can share a couple pictures. As you can see from the pictures, all the kids in her class wore their hats sideways for the rappers on the bus song. Too cute for words!
