Update on School

Well here we are at the 12th day of school (although technically it was Allison's 10th day due to the staggered start) and I am happy to report that we have had two happy mornings in a row! In fact, the first thing Allison said to me when I picked her up today was "School is fun!" I was so excited to hear it, that I pretended I didn't hear what she said just so she would repeat it. Jeff is finally able to enjoy dropping her off. It makes for good bonding time for the two of them. On Friday's we've instituted "Family Friday" which means Jeff, Daniel and I take Allison to school. Last Friday was tough because she cried but hopefully this Friday will be a happy one. It will make for a nice end to the week. Monday was the only difficult drop-off day but I could tell that she was trying so hard not to cry. I knew it was only a matter of time before she would be adjusted and actually enjoy going to school. This morning she said to Jeff "I don't know why I kept crying. It's just silly. When I'm done, I just laugh. I cried on Monday because I couldn't find the green line and the blue line looked black and the green line looked dark blue (probably b/c the power was out at school and she couldn't see -but that's a whole other story!)." So I think we've made it through the toughest part for now but I'm sure we'll go through the same thing next year. I guess it's all just part of growing up!

Oh, what a sweetie. It kills me when they are acting so big and "trying not to cry". T did that with her stiches in the hospital. Makes me just want to bawl my eyes out about how big and brave they are being.

I am so glad it is going well. Yep - part of growing up! And she sure is :)
