So we started potty training Daniel this past weekend. It's been going much better than expected but I'll leave the details of that for another post. Allison has been extremely helpful with the whole process. She helps Daniel pull his pants down when has trouble, sits with him while he tries to go on the potty, and encourages him to go. While watching tv today (while Daniel was napping), Allison saw something on tv where they were talking about potty training and how it's a good idea to put a box in the bathroom filled with some books, coloring books, and toys to occupy a child while he/she tries to go potty. A couple hours later I was cooking dinner and Daniel was playing quietly on the tile floor (gotta keep him off the carpet for now). Allison was upstairs working away at something, but i figured she was just coloring or making a picture. When she finally ventured downstairs, Here is what she was holding:She had made a "box" out of construction paper and tape, and filled it with some of their toys, and a hand made coloring book. She told me it was a box filled with toys and a coloring book to help Daniel with his potty training. So of course I had to check out the coloring book. Here is the cover (sorry for the fuzzy picture):
It reads "Daniel's Coloring Book Allison Made this Coloring". The next page was a connect the dots:
The next few pages consisted of pictures for Daniel to color in. On this page, she labeled the objects (dog, statue, table):
The next page has a castle and train (although the castle was already colored in):
And the last two pages had an airplane and a house:And here is the box conveniently placed next to the potty:
It's moments like these I'm so glad I have a blog to record these memories!
