Today was Allison's first piano recital. Allison's school offered lessons last year as an after school program which was a good introduction but this year we decided to have her start with a private tutor. She started lessons in September and worked all year learning the basics of playing the piano. She had been practicing very hard on her three songs for the recital: Tucker's Secret Life, Russian Folkdance and Sounds of Beethoven. She was definitely in her element at the recital - the girl loves to perform in front of an audience! (She definitely doesn't get that from me). She was so excited at the end when her piano teacher gave her a trophy. Here she is, in all her glory, playing her songs:
What made the day even more special was my aunt Esther, Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob were in attendance (unfortunately my parents were out of town):
And here she is showing off her trophy:
One final picture, posing with her teacher (and the flowers from Aunt Esther):
So proud of my little girl!
