The Sky is Falling

I'm sure you've heard the stories about the flock of birds dropping form the sky or the thousands of fish found dead in the water. Well, I think something very strange is going on in this world I just have yet to figure it out. But something strange also happened at our house this past weekend. It's been a while since I've posted about any crazy wildlife on our back patio and this is probably due to the fact that we closed up all the little holes in our screen enclosure last year. Well, on Saturday we decided we wanted to play in the back yard, that was, until we got out there and noticed this:

In case you can't tell, that is a bat. Yes, a bat! Luckily it was on the outside of the screen and not the inside, otherwise I really would have freaked. So we gathered the kids up and went back onto our patio to investigate from the inside. Of course I had to take a video of this:



So it seems the bat was dead but I'm still not sure how it was hanging onto the screen if it was dead. I'm guessing it was either rabid or had something very wrong with it since it was apparently out during daylight. Who knows. Out of all the creatures we have seen and yet to see, I never figured a bat would be one of them. It's just making me batty!
