Up until a few weeks ago Daniel's drawings consisted of a bunch of scribbled lines. I was started to get a bit concerned because by this age, Allison was drawing pictures of people and almost writing her name. Then I realized that Allison has always been advanced in the drawing department. It's one of her major strengths. But I was so thrilled this past week when Daniel actually attempted to draw a real picture and write his name. I think school has really helped him with is articulation, although he still holds the crayon funny and uses his left hand (what's that all about??). I was so excited when he showed me the picture he had made of a house with a sun and sky. He even attempted to write his name in yellow (see if you can make it out):
It may not look like much but it's a huge step for him. As for my other artist, she brought this picture home from school today:
It's a "cartoon" monkey which I believe they made based on a picture the teacher showed them. I think they basically try and recreate the picture that the teacher makes. Thought it was cute!
