EPCOT

Back in October when we went on this trip we purchased a three-day pass to Disney. We used the second day in December on this trip and so we had one day left which was going to expire next week. I didn't think we were going to make it back to use our last day because it's been quite a busy few months but we managed to squeeze in a quick trip this weekend. I had been wanting to go back to Epcot because, despite the fact that most people think it's boring, I actually really enjoy going there. I love visiting the countries and they actually have quite a few attractions that even the kids enjoyed. They also happened to have the Flower and Garden Festival going on which really made for a great visit. We went up on Friday night and met up with some friends for dinner who happened to also be in Orlando. We enjoyed dining at Chevy's since it doesn't exist where we live. And everyone thought it would be fun to tell the waiter it was my birthday. So yes, I had to wear the silly sombrero and listen to "oh so thrilled waiters" having to sing happy birthday to me. And yes, a picture was taken, but I refuse to put it up on my blog. Those of you on Facebook had the pleasure of seeing it and there's no need to post to it an further.

Allison and Daniel were surprised to see their friends Taylor and Brandon at Downtown Disney (almost enough to make Daniel smile):
The next morning we headed to Epcot. It turned out to be a beautiful day which only added to the beauty of the flowers that we saw. Before we checked out all the topiaries and other flowers, we had to say hello to some of our good friends:

Then it was time to check out the flowers. Here's Allison in front of a butterfly:

Allison and I posed in front of a rainbow of flowers in the fairy garden:
One of the prettiest sites was the butterfly garden. Jeff tried to get a few good shots of them:
Here's a few pictures of the Disney themed topiaries:

They also had several playgrounds set up throughout the park as part of the festival.

And lastly, I found a nice spot to try and get a cute picture of the kids..unfortunately it's impossible to get them to both look at the camera and actually smile at the same time...oh well:
So long for now Mickey! I'm sure we'll be back to visit in a few months (well, after the summer crowds and heat that is...)

I can't wait to go to Epcot. We studied so many of the countries this year that I can't wait for the girls to "experience" them!!!

How long is the flower and garden festival going on? I will have to look it up.

Is it really hot there? It is so hard to imagine right now. It is lovely here, but it is spring.

I didn't think it was too too crowded in April BUT I do prefer when we go in SEptember...
