Daniel's First Haircut

So I finally convinced Jeff that Daniel needed a haircut. Well, not so much convinced. I basically said "I'm taking Daniel for a haircut today, feel free to join us if you'd like." You see, Jeff's a big fan of the curls on the back of Daniels head and while I think they are cute, they were getting out of control and he'd wake up from naps looking like this:

So Jeff reluctantly joined us because, of course, he could not miss his son's first haircut. I held out as long as possible but it was just getting too long - it was in his eyes and the back was long enough to put in a ponytail. So before Allison was able to play "let's really make Daniel look like a girl by styling his hair" I decided it was time to get it cut. I knew Daniel would not be keen on the idea of being strapped in a chair while some strange lady does weird things to his head. And of course, I was right. He cried the entire time, from the moment we had to strap him into the chair until the end when he got his prize. My description doesn't do it justice so I have pictures to show Daniel's reactions to his first haircut:

Happy boy before he realized what was about to take place
Big sister giving him a big kiss before the "big event"
Daniel's reaction before the hair stylist even put the smock on
Before his hair was even wet (check out the HUGE tears!)
Chop...Chop...Chop...
Checking himself out in the mirror.
This actually made him stop crying for a few seconds.

Pure torture I tell ya...
All that torture and all I get is a silly duck?
Happy once again!

And finally, here's a short video taken by Jeff

And just think, we get to do it all over again in a couple months (although I have yet to inform Daniel of that).

I suppose this is why our mother used to put a bowl upside down on our heads and trim anything below it.
