A Whole Year Come and Gone

Today was Allison's last day of school. I did get a bit emotional as I walked her to her classroom today and I saw some teachers removing all of the artwork and pictures from the hallways. The place was starting to look desolate. I'm not sure if Allison understands what "the last day" of school means. She know she will go back to the same school next year but will be in a different classroom with different teachers. Some of her friends will be in her class but there will be new friends to make as well. I've told her she will be going every day of the week next year (only from 1pm-4pm). We'll see if she asks me over the next few weeks when she gets to go back.

I can't believe her first year of school is over and done with. I'm sure she will miss her teachers, Ms. Sara and Ms. Erica, and friends (too many to list), circle time, their daily jobs (door holder, snack helper, line leader, etc.), snack time and lunchtime, painting, cooking, coloring and playing in the block center. She'll miss Spanish with Ms. Monica, music with Ms. Maggie, playing on the computers in the computer lab and going outside to run around the playground. Mommy will miss Tues/Thurs mornings alone with Daniel but only ten more weeks and it all starts over again. Looking forward to a funfilled summer - a one-week camp, dance class, a sibling tumbling class, and a trip to California to visit Aunt BonBon and Uncle Mymy!
