Daniel's First Show

Last Sunday the four of us went to see Elmo's Green Thumb. It was Daniel's first real show (other than all the shows he's seen at Disney) and he seemed to love it. The show lasted almost two hours and he made it through without fussing. He was thrilled to see all his favorite Sesame Street characters including Elmo, Big Bird, Bert, Grover, Ernie, Telly, Rosalita, Zoe, Abby, The Count and Oscar the Grouch. He named each and every one of them as they came onto the stage (well, the well known ones at least). Before the show I took some pictures of the kids exploring the theater. Allison has been there twice before - once to see Playhouse Disney Live! and once to see the Nutcracker. This was Daniel's first trip. They both had fun running up all the stairs:

And here was what they saw once they got up the stairs:
Then Allison grabbed the camera and took a picture of the three of us:
Of course Daniel wanted to try the same thing.
His photography skills aren't exactly top notch just yet:
Next, Daniel had fun playing with the binoculars. I don't think he understood
how to use them or what they were for, but he had fun nonetheless:
Then it was finally showtime. We were sitting on the front row of
one of the balconies so it was easy for the kids to see everything.
And here are the balloons that they brought out during the intermission that Allison threw a hissy fit over (yes, Allison) because we would not buy her one. Funny how the two year old was the well behaved one and the five-year old was the one complaining.
Despite Allison's tantrum we had a good time at the show. Now I need to go teach my child how to be thankful for what she has.

Wow, to look at the pics of them in the lobby you'd think ya'll were the only people there. What fun. Reminds me of when Jeff and I used to get taken to the Superdome and would take off (unsupervised, of course) running up and down all the giant ramps.

Did I ever tell you about when I took my class last year to go behind the scenes for Sesame Street live? One of the girls, a freshman in college, nearly had a stroke when she saw the lifeless Big Bird costume hung up to dry backstage.
