Tiny Talk Tuesday

Welcome to Tiny Talk Tuesday! Here's what Allison, age 4 1/2 and Daniel, age 22 months had to say this past week:

Allison: Are you gonna still be in this house when I grow up and live in a different house?
Me: I dunno. Do you want me to still be in this house?
Allison: Well, this house has kid toys. (i didn't have the heart to tell her when she's twenty-something she probably won't care so much about those kids toys anymore!)

When we were in Orlando last week, we stayed in a two-bedroom hotel suite. The bedroom we stayed in had a bathroom and inside the bathroom was another door for the water heater room (which had no lock on it). One day while we were in the hotel, Allison had gone to the bathroom. It had been a few minutes and then I thought I heard her so I walked closer to the bathroom. All I heard was "Mommy, help. I don't know where I am. Help me." I could tell she was pretty upset and scared but I had trouble finding her. I opened the door to the bedroom, which was dark (even though it was daytime) and then I opened the door to the bathroom. I turned on the light and still did not see her. Then I listened for her voice again and realized, she was in the closet with the hot water heater! She had gone potty, turned out the light and somehow ended up opening the wrong door. She had walked into the room with the hot water heater and shut the door behind her without realizing it wasn't the exit! Luckily I found her based on the sound of her voice and I can look back on it now and laugh but poor Allison was terrified! Hopefully she learned not to turn off the lights until after she opens the door.

And finally, Daniel has been busy putting words together. We went on a family walk but before we left, he pointed to the hats hanging by the door and said "Daddy's hat". While on our walk, he saw some birds in the sky. He looked up, waved and said "Hi birds".

That's all for this week! For more Tiny Talk, check out NotBefore7!

Poor Allison, that had to be so scary to be in a strange place and then not know where you ended up in the dark! My 4 year old would have freeked out without a doubt. Cute post
