All Good Things Must Come to an End

A few days ago I could have said the sickness bug has stayed out of this house for many many months. We've all been healthy and it's been great. Well, so much for the healthy streak. Allison was sent home early on Friday from school because she had a fever (100.6, not too bad). During the weekend she felt fine during the day but at night she had an awful cough. I finally took her to the doctor on Tuesday morning. Turns out she has yet another ear infection - the right ear once again. The doctor prescribed her antibiotics and amazingly she is actually taking it. After all we went through last year, with ear infection after ear infection and antibiotic after antibiotic I didn't think she'd ever even try another antibiotic again. She is slowly getting better. I knew Daniel would be next. It started with the sneezing and then the cough - no fever though. Then he took a nap this afternoon and when he woke up, I noticed a bunch of green gunk coming out of his right eye. Turns out it's probably pink eye. Neither of them has ever had pink eye but I conferred with a few friends who have seen it and they said it looks just like pink eye. I called the doctor and they were able to diagnose it over the phone. They called in a prescription to the pharmacy. Now here's the problem - I have to administer the medicine into his eye three times a day for five days. Since Jeff is working a lot and has school all weekend it looks like I'll be on my one for this one. I don't see this going very well...
