I haven't posted too much lately. Not a lot going on in our neck of the woods. We're getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving - we leave in one week. We're going to New Orleans again to spend Thanksgiving with Jeff's family and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone. We also look forward to seeing Aunt Louise and Uncle Ted's newly rebuilt house (the original was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina). They just moved in a couple months ago.
School has been going well for Allison. Every day she tells me she can't wait to go to school but she still gets butterflies in her stomach when she gets there (I was the same way at her age). She loves her teachers and they just adore her. I love the 1-4 schedule because Daniel naps during that time so i get some time to myself. Although I usually end up working during those hours. I'm already dreading next year when Allison will have to be at school around 7:30 for kindergarten. We can actually walk or bike to her elementary school but if it's too hot then we'll have to drive. I've just gotten use to having relaxing mornings - not trying to rush out of the house. But I have plenty of time before we have to deal with early mornings.
Daniel is doing well. He is really starting to say a lot of words. Yesterday he said "arm" today he said "shower". He actually listens to me now if I tell him to stop doing something - well, some of the time at least. He still insists on opening the dishwasher but I realized he just wants to help me empty it - which is fine when it's clean...not a good thing when it's dirty. The kids are enjoying each other's company. They can almost play together now, although Daniel is still into knocking things down (I'm sure that won't change for quite some time). I did get a couple cute picture of the two of them playing on the couch:
