Halloween Festivities

We had a busy week filled with Halloween fun which was capped off by a night of trick-or-treating and a haunted house which Jeff took part in. On Tuesday I took the kids to a friend's house for cookie decoration.

The final product (she basically just dumped the whole cup of sprinkles on top)

On Thursday we had our annual moms club holiday party at the park. For the first time, I dressed them in matching shirts:

Allison enjoyed parachute fun while Daniel looked on:

Daniel's favorite part was playing on the playground. We've been to the park a lot recently but this was the first time he really had a blast running around on the equipment. There were lots of bigger kids there so of course I was watching his every move. He managed to escape unscathed. Here are a few pics of Daniel and Allison playing:

Finally the big day had arrived. Allison chose to be Cinderella (go figure) and I decided Daniel would be a monkey since he loves bananas so much. The day started with a parade at Allison's school:

After school, we went over to our friends' Brian and Kim's house. They built an AMAZING haunted house in their garage which Jeff got to be a part of. The funniest part was watching Jeff being "painted" into character by his friend Brian (priceless!):

I wish I had pictures to share of the actual haunted house because it really was spectacular but unfortunately my camera batteries died before I could take any pictures.

So while Jeff was scaring kids, I took Allison and Daniel trick-or-treating with Allison's friend Alexis and her older sister Taylor. We managed to make it to about 15 or 20 houses before Allison had enough and was ready to go back to Alexis's house. I figured she'd have made it longer but I guess it gets old after a while and a four year-old can only do so much walking (I was pushing Daniel on his tricycle). All in all, it was a great Halloween. And yes, Jeff was able to get off all the face paint and there were no ill effects (at least not yet).

One more picture of the little monkey because he was just so darned cute:
