Greek Turkey Pita and Iceberg Wedge Salad

Just wanted to post a couple more items I made this week. Nothing fancy but t was new to me and I had fun making them. I didn't use recipes for these, just threw together my own ingredients. The first was a greek turkey pita sandwich. Here's a picture:

I grilled a turkey burger and then put it inside a whole wheat pita. I added tzatziki sauce (store bought from Costco), feta, chopped tomatoes, red onion and cucumbers. On Jeff's pita I also added kalamata olives (but not on mine because I don't like olives). We were pretty happy with the results. We decided next time I should season the turkey burger with some sort of greek seasoning. We were thinking of a seasoning that a restaurant near College (Marathon Deli) used to use - now if only I could figure out what was in it. I also decided I should heat the pita next time. Made for a great lunch though!

The second item I wanted to share is one of my favorites. I've never actually made it before but I often order it if I see it on the menu when I go out to eat - an iceberg wedge salad. Again, probably not one of my leaner menu choices but it's oh so yummy and I was full after eating it for dinner last night. I cut a wedge out of a head of iceberg and then topped it with a chopped hard-boiled egg, chopped tomatoes, and bacon bits. Then I topped the whole thing with blue cheese dressing. It was delicious! Here's a picture:

Not sure what's on the menu this week. I still have some leftovers from last week to go through. We'll see if I'm inspired to cook anything special this week!
