We're about four weeks into summer and the kids are loving it. I didn't sign them up for camp this summer because I didn't want to spend the money, especially since I am home. I usually don't put too much emphasis on education during the summer other than making sure they spend time reading every day. For the most part, the kids play really well together and seem to do a lot of "learning" on their own. They definitely have their fair share of fighting but they seem to get along more times than not. One of their favorite activities is playing school. Of course Allison is the teacher and Daniel is the student. We attribute a lot of what Daniel knows to Allison. She really does spend a lot of time teaching him everything she knows. The past few weeks Allison has given Daniel three tests to take and he seems to have done well on all three. My favorite is test#3 where she asks him to write a paragraph on either macaroni and cheese or blueberries:

Summer School
Here are the rest of the pages from the other tests:
Needless to say, Daniel is more than prepared for kindergarten, or third grade for that matter!

They seem to really be enjoying the summer. Its great to give them a break before returning to school. They can be so creative without going to a structured activity everyday.
